The Tunnel Hustler

The Tunnel Hustler is my high-performance longboard that has a long history of successful results in Longboard contests on the mainland and in Hawaii. I first started building the Tunnel Hustler for the Russ K Makaha and Blue Hawaii team riders in the 90s for the waves at Sunset, Makaha, and even Pipeline. Back on the mainland the Tunnel Hustler was a standout at Malibu and California point breaks, as well as beachbreaks like Oceanside and Huntington Beach. Since then, the shape has been refined and updated to make it what it is today.

Over time I have modified the rocker and bottom contours to allow for high performance surfing while not compromising the glide and speed of the shape. In addition to these subtle changes in rocker the most significant change is in the overall plan shape, or outline. By pulling in the tail and increasing the curve through the middle of the board, the overall rail in the water is decreased when turning and allows for easier rail to rail transition. This modified outline, along with the multiple fin setup options I offer makes for an extremely versatile performance surfboard. Easily adaptable from a single fin to 2+1, Quad, Thruster or 5 fins setups, the Tunnel Hustler is the most performance driven model in our quiver of longboards. The Tunnel Hustler has proven results in a variety of wave sizes and conditions, from small California surf to the powerful waves of the North Shore, with versatility that is unbeatable.
