THE RED BARON
The lineup can sometimes be a warzone. So when you’re in need of some dominance in the dogfight for waves then The Red Baron model is the weapon of choice.
Inspired by my competition rider Baron Bañuelos and his quest to go to combat against the best surfers whenever the opportunity presents itself, this design will propel your surfing into the echelons of competitive surfing.
Similar to the famous World War I German pilot’s reputation for conservative and calculated tactics, this board will provide you with the precision, looseness, and stabilization at the times when you need it most.
The board comes with pinched 50/50 rails and offered in a stepdeck version with an option for pin or squaretail.

THE RENAISSANCE
“Renaissance” is a French word for “rebirth”, or a new interest in something that has not been popular for a long time. Reaching back through the natural progression of his surfboard designs from his early years to the present, Roger has brought the best elements of each era forward with the Renaissance Model.
The Renaissance model revisits and revives the top longboard plan shape from the 1960’s; the height of the longboard era, and combines it with modern rocker, rail, and foil design elements to bring it into the present. The modern pulled down rail allows for smooth and easy rail to rail transitions. The advanced fine foil increases the speed and the glide which makes for fast clean surfing.
The result is a modern longboard design that features multiple stringer glue-ups with pigment colored gloss coats and polished finishes that harkens back to the 60s but performs with modern longboarding characteristics and makes the Renaissance a one board longboard quiver. Experience the best of the past with the top design elements of the present, experience “The Renaissance.”

The Tunnel Hustler
The Tunnel Hustler is my high-performance longboard that has a long history of successful results in Longboard contests on the mainland and in Hawaii. I first started building the Tunnel Hustler for the Russ K Makaha and Blue Hawaii team riders in the 90s for the waves at Sunset, Makaha, and even Pipeline. Back on the mainland the Tunnel Hustler was a standout at Malibu and California point breaks, as well as beachbreaks like Oceanside and Huntington Beach. Since then, the shape has been refined and updated to make it what it is today.
Over time I have modified the rocker and bottom contours to allow for high performance surfing while not compromising the glide and speed of the shape. In addition to these subtle changes in rocker the most significant change is in the overall plan shape, or outline. By pulling in the tail and increasing the curve through the middle of the board, the overall rail in the water is decreased when turning and allows for easier rail to rail transition. This modified outline, along with the multiple fin setup options I offer makes for an extremely versatile performance surfboard. Easily adaptable from a single fin to 2+1, Quad, Thruster or 5 fins setups, the Tunnel Hustler is the most performance driven model in our quiver of longboards. The Tunnel Hustler has proven results in a variety of wave sizes and conditions, from small California surf to the powerful waves of the North Shore, with versatility that is unbeatable.

1958 PIG
The 1958 Pig is really where it all started. This is the first shape that made surfing accessible to everyone in the late 50’s and really blossomed in the early to mid 60’s. Referred to as the “pig”, due to its overall curved outline and wide hips in the tail, the pig evolved at the same time as polyester foam and enabled the youth along the California coastline to flock to the beaches and give surfing a try.
Originally made popular by the shaping and surfboard building team of Dale Velzy and Hap Jacobs, the foam and fiberglass pig model was lighter and more maneuverable than anything that had been produced to date. Before long every manufacturer had their version of the Velzy/Jacobs Pig.
The plan shape, or outline, of the Roger Hinds 1958 Pig is an exact replica of the Velzy/Jacobs Pig of yesteryear. But Roger has improved the riding ability of the Pig by making subtle changes to the deck, bottom, and rails to make this board surprising fun to surf today. While the deck line is perfectly flat, the bottom has a low entry rocker that makes for smooth paddling and glide. The rails are thinner and more foiled and finely tuned than the “tennis ball” rails on the Pigs from the 50’s.
Whether you had one of those old Pigs as your first board, or you just want to experience what riding a Pig is all about, the 1958 Pig will impress you and take you back to the roots of California Surfing. Summertime sessions on a Pig, at San Onofre, Huntington Beach, Santa Cruz, Malibu, or San Diego, will take you back to the magical carefree times of surfing’s infancy…. and you’ll be smilin’ ear to ear.

THE PAUL STRAUCH PS.65
For the 1965 world contest in Peru, George Downing made Paul two boards, a big wave board and a small wave board for the competition. Paul came in 3rd in the big wave event and first in the small wave event. The small wave board was the inspiration behind the PS '65, a collaborative effort between Paul Strauch and Roger Hinds. The original Downing classic shape has been kept in tact as a classic small wave long board and modernized in the bottom rocker, nose, tail and rails allowing for effortless turns and maximum tip time.
All boards are hand signed and numbered by Paul Strauch and come with a "HAWAII" team logo on the deck.

THE 4 DOORS ULTRA GLIDE
Surfing the Ultra Glide is a unique surfing experience that alternates between “smooth operator” and “slide the glide” sensations. Effortless turns, instantaneous speed, the Ultra Glide will pick up anything and extend everything. Talk about having fun. You’ll be smiling from ear to ear from the unique characteristics of this flowing pintail outline designed to maximize the glider experience.
I have given the Ultra Glide an extended V panel that allows for easy rail to rail transitions and increases its turning ability. You’ll be surprised how easily the Ultra Glide maneuvers when trimming down the line, threading the needle and slicing clean cutbacks.
Offered in a size range from 9’0” to 12’0” the sweet spot for most is 10’0”, 10’6” or 11’0”, that’s when the board really shines. For fin setups I recommend a single fin or a single box with side boxes for a 2+1 set up that loosens it up a little more. Average nose width is 16”, average tail is 14.5” and average thickness is 3.5”-3.75”.
If you haven’t tried a true Glider you need to give it a go. It really rounds out your surfing and adds another dimension to your wave riding experience.

THE MALOLO FLYER
The new Malolo Flyer Model, translated from Hawaiian meaning “Flying Fish,” and known to quickly accelerate and literally lift off and fly with the use of large dorsal fins, is the basis for the inspiration and collaboration with Roger regarding the design elements comprising the narrow nose, rocker, and wide tail section incorporating extremely sharp, right angle rails. Extremely easy to change direction, trim, nose ride, and increase personal confidence and enjoyment.

THE PIG PIN
The Pig Pin is the natural evolution forward from the 1958 Pig. Similar in outline to the ‘58 Pig, with the wide hips and similar nose, the Pig Pin features a pintail as opposed to a square tail and is offered with two different rail configurations. The pintail design allows for some edge in the tail which speeds up and cleans up its turning ability and down the line projection to get around sections and improve cutbacks. The standard 50/50 rail gives the board the traditional feel of the time period. The modernized down rail option improves the overall performance of the board and livens it up, allowing for quicker and easier rail to rail transition and increased down the line and trim speed.
The Pig Pin is one of my most versatile longboard designs and a perfect “go to” board for the average summer conditions at locations like San Onofre, Huntington Beach, Pleasure Point, Malibu, and the beach breaks of San Diego.
Whether you prefer the traditional version that is reminiscent of the early 60’s, or the turbo charged down rail version you’ll find this board easy to paddle, catch waves, surf in a multitude of conditions and enjoy.
Ridden exclusively as a single fin and offered in sizing from 8’0” to 11’0” the sweet spot for the Pig Pin is the 9’0” to 10’0” range and can be customized to suit your individual needs. Like all my models the Pig Pin is completely handshaped and can be glassed any way you like from a clear sanded finish to full color with a gloss and polish… custom surfboards created by one pair of hands.

THE DREAM STEP DECK
This surfboard was the model for the Ultimate Craftsman Project and was inspired by a 1967 Skip Frye shape. I wanted it to be really pinched all the way through the board, something different than any board you'd come across in a surf shop. The base model comes with a single stringer but can be custom ordered with special wood glue ups, pinlines, deck patches, and more.
